Oscar Piastri has no intention of swapping McLaren for Red Bull Racing in 2026. The Australian said this in Mexico after Helmut Marko 'revealed' that his manager Mark Webber is lobbying for a spot in 2026 with the Austrian team, but Piastri dismisses that as nonsense.
"Definitely not," Piastri answered directly. "I'm very happy where I am. I'm under contract for the next two years after this and I'm certainly not looking to go elsewhere," he continued. Last September, Piastri extended his contract until the end of 2026.
According to Helmut Marko, Webber has been speaking to Red Bulll about the possibilities, but Red Bull's 81-year-old Austrian team advisor seems to be wrong. "It wouldn’t be a week in F1 without some comments from Helmut," laughed Piastri on Thursday in Mexico City before being pleased to hear about it.
"Not massively. I mean it's a nice compliment I would say. But again, I'm very happy with where I am. They have quite a big pool of drivers that they can choose from," he added.

Lando Norris is also still on a long-term contract at Woking. The Briton signed an extension in early 2024. Max Verstappen's nearest rival in the World Championship is assumed to be fixed until at least 2027.
