One team principal thinks the new tariffs could "have a huge impact" on Formula 1

The talk of tariff is something serious for all business, but especially in Formula 1. Each team relies on getting the parts they need in a quickly and low cost manner. Christian Horner weighes in on how badly it could affect Formula 1.

During the Bahrain Grand Prix, Horner was asked how serious the "tariff situation" was for the Power Unit Manufacturers. Haas, an American team, has already addressed the situation surrounding the tariffs and what it could mean for them.

Horner said, "In terms of supply, it shouldn’t be an issue. But for the manufacturers, it could have a huge impact."

He continued, "That’s why F1 has to safeguard its future. Everyone agrees a more cost-effective engine would be good, as long as it’s sustainable."

Formula 1 are set to undergo a huge regualtion change next season, which is a hot topic around the paddock as rumours of a V10 engine change have been floating.

The Red Bull Racing team principal said, "The big question is: what is the engine spec? V10, V8, turbo, no turbo, battery size, standardisation – there are a lot of fundamental questions."

Red Bull Racing is also set to make some big changes, as this is their last season with Honda before they switch to Ford.
