At the Red Bull Ring a foe that struck in Japan prominently has again made its presence felt, causing the red flag to be waved during the final 5 minutes of Q2.
It was visible in the broadcast, on the outskirts of Turn 10 smoke was flowing freely into the air. The reason? Grass fires.
The FIA has been hard at work trying to prevent this issue from taking place again. However,the right solution is yet to be found for the recurring session-altering situation.
