Not a perfect Friday for Verstappen: 'Have some work to do'

Friday in Monza, especially FP2, was not ideal for championship leader Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. The reigning world champion was the fastest man in the first free practice but had to settle for fifth in the second session while teammate Sergio Perez parked his Red Bull car in the wall.
Verstappen acknowledges that not everything went well in the first two free practice sessions. "We drove with different wing positions, and now we must analyse what works best. That can be tricky here at Monza," he reveals via his own website.

Verstappen: 'There's more in store'

He continued: "I think I could have done a bit better. I was still fine-tuning between the low-speed and high-speed corners. I'm confident that will be fine. It was difficult to get a good picture of everything in the second free practice, so we still have some work to do."
Several drivers suffered from traffic in the second free practice, including Verstappen. "During my fast lap, I was held up a bit in the second sector, and during the long run, I couldn't really do many laps, so you don't get a complete picture. But in terms of long runs, it was the same for everyone. There are still improvements in the pipeline," said the championship leader.
