Lando Norris is not a fan of 'ghost racing', racing without an audience as a result of the corona pandemic. The empty bleachers on home circuit Silverstone hurt even more, says the disappointed Englishman.
"It's like in my time as a go-kart. You're just here to race, you don't really put on a show. I miss the fans and their emotion. I think every driver has that, even the mechanics," says Norris in conversation with Motorsport. It's not like his home race feels like a race on his own soil. "Fans make it a home race, otherwise it's just a standard circuit on the agenda."

Fourth place

Despite the lack of supporters in the stands, Norris has been one of the biggest surprises of the Formula 1 season so far. The 20-year old driver of McLaren occupies fourth place in the standings, with 26 points. The gap to number three Max Verstappen is seven points. Last season Norris finished in eleventh place, the same result he achieved in England.
