Many people dismiss the Esports as boring or no real competition, but tensions are running high. For lack of better, the big guys in the racing world are now taking part in virtual races as well and that involves very different problems than on the real tarmac. Lando Norris demands an apology from Simon Pagenaud!
Earlier it was Bubba Wallace who couldn't hold back and did a rage-quit during an official virtual race. That it is serious business, was shown by the fact that he lost his sponsor as a reaction to this. In a virtual Indycar race Norris and Pagenaud got it together.
Pagenaud had to swerve because Norris pushed another driver, Rahal, away in the track of Pagenaud. The latter crashed, but was able to continue his race after repairs. As a reaction Pagenaud performed a break check on the McLaren driver at the end of the race which eventually cost Norris the victory. It sounds unsportsmanlike and according to Norris it is.

Norris demands an apology

Norris tells NBC Sports: "The crash of Pagenaud was not my fault. I think it's stupid to say this but it's because I'm in England and he's in America and the internet connection can cause some problems".

Norris continues: "After seeing his onboard and stream I was even more irritated by his reaction. It was disappointing to see that from a driver that I normally respect very much. I have done my part and I think it is now up to him to apologize to me for the break check".
