At long last, could McLaren be coming back to the sharp end of F1? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, but the first two races of the 2019 F1 season have been positive for the giants of Formula 1.
Carlos Sainz has had no luck this year, with retirements in both races, but Lando Norris’ fantastic sixth placed finish in Bahrain, combined with another Q3 appearance for the Brit shows that things are looking good.
Norris told Sky Sports F1: "It's definitely on the way up.
"The steps we've taken from last year, to be two out of two times in Q3, to have opportunities to get into the points and a P6 - we do have a better trend than we did last year.
"We just had better pace than we thought we were going to have. We had a strong qualy but our pace in the first stint was very good, and after that it was still good.

"We had good pace and I enjoyed it a lot."
