For several drivers, the summer break has not yet begun. Pirelli, the official supplier of Formula 1, is currently testing new tyres for 2026. This is how the first test day went.
This is not the first time Pirelli is testing the new tyre compounds for next year, but after the Hungarian Grand Prix, the supplier is conducting another test for 2026 over these two days, this time at the Hungaroring.

McLaren, Racing Bulls, and Alpine were the teams participating in the test this Tuesday. For McLaren, the winner of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lando Norris was in action, Liam Lawson drove for Racing Bulls, and reserve driver Paul Aron participated for Alpine. All drivers ran mule cars.
Throughout the day, they drove on prototypes of the C3, C4, and C5 compounds. The focus of the test was developing and comparing the tyres for next year. In the morning, short runs were made to test the performance levels.
