Mercedes make Hamilton's return official: '44 is back'

It was already assumed, but Mercedes have now made it official: Lewis Hamilton is back. He never actually left, as the Brit is simply still in contract with the team, but his continued silence and statements from Toto Wolff sparked a lot of speculation about his future in Formula One.

Recently Hamilton returned to social media after a radio silence of almost two months, and he also appeared to be on the attendance list for Mercedes' car launch, so it began to look increasingly likely that the seven-time world champion would return, and Mercedes have now made it official. On social media the team shows a picture of Hamilton, accompanied by the text: "44 is back". So, it looks like the 37-year-old Briton is not going anywhere for the time being.
