McLaren says the proposed rule changes for the 2021 Formula 1 season are looking positive. Andreas Seidl,
McLaren's new sporting director, says the team is happy with how negotiations ended, with the unveiling of the new rules set to take place later this month.
While other team bosses expect the announcement to be delayed, Seidl says he has faith in Formula 1 motorsport director Ross Brawn to achieve what Liberty Media set out in their plans for F1's future.
"If you compete against the best in this sport, for example Mercedes or Ferrari, it doesn't matter when they start or when we start," Seidl told Autosport.
"We are happy with every outcome. It is more important to be clear about what we get. This allows us to start thinking about how it affects the structure of the team and I can decide what the team should look like.

"There are very experienced people at work. I have full confidence in Ross Brawn and his team. We are waiting for the regulations that they will come up with. We still have good contact with him and that is very important."
Changes are expected to include an overhaul to the aerodynamics of the cars to allow drivers to follow one another much more closely as well as efforts at reducing astronomical costs of competing in the sport.
