McLaren expectations high: 'Norris was able to position his car well'

McLaren seems to be one of the favourites to win the World Championship this season. On Wednesday morning, the car of the British racing team was on the track for the first tests. There the team made an excellent impression.

Last calendar year McLaren had to compete against Red Bull Racing, Mercedes and Ferrari, but that seems to be different this season. Because of the new regulations, the team suddenly has a very competitive car with which it is expected to compete at the front.

McLaren worked hard behind the scenes in recent months to give Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo the best possible car in the new season. According to Jolyon Palmer, this has been quite successful. The former Formula 1 driver analysed in conversation with the official website of Formula 1 the new cars.

According to Palmer, McLaren was one of the teams that did well immediately in Barcelona. "The McLaren looks sharp on corner entry, whilst other cars looks to be understeering more into Turn 6," Palmer analysed. "Lando looked like he was able to position his car well."
