When will Verstappen's child be born? The Red Bull star provides new hint

Max Verstappen already has some experience in a fatherly role. While Penelope is the daughter of Daniil Kvyat, Verstappen has been a caring stepfather to her for years. However, soon the reigning Formula 1 world champion will officially become a father, as his partner Kelly Piquet is expecting their first child together.

On several occasions already, Verstappen has expressed that he is hugely looking forward to fatherhood. During a press event with the Dutch media in London, Verstappen was asked (again) about his feelings surrounding the upcoming birth. The Red Bull Racing driver said: "[I am] relaxed. Of course, it helps that you have already got some things. Just, of course, it's exciting."

The big question remains: When will the baby arrive? Kelly Piquet frequently shares updates on Instagram but hasn't revealed the timing yet. Naturally, Verstappen was asked about the timing as well. While he didn’t reveal too much, he did drop a hint: "Not before the start of the season. During the season. I'm relaxed about it—it’ll be fine."

Verstappen has previously admitted that he might have to miss the birth, as his priority—out of necessity—remains racing in Formula 1. Depending on the timing, the Dutchman could find himself on the other side of the world when Kelly Piquet welcomes their child.
