Marko hints at Newey's future team

Following the news that Adrian Newey has left Red Bull Racing, Helmut Marko has revealed that he thinks he knows which team Newey will go to after 2025, and according to the Austrian, it will not be with the red team.

Even before it was announced that Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull, there were always links between the designer and Scuderia Ferrari. For instance, there were reports that Newey had met with Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur before the Miami Grand Prix to discuss his contract. However, according to Helmut Marko, this is unlikely.

"What colour do I see Newey in the future? I think the red clashes a bit with the dark blue. But I think anything is possible with a great colour like green," Marko says suggestively in conversation with total-motorsport. So, according to the Austrian, there is a good chance that Newey will go to Aston Martin after 2025.

Newey has said that not designing a car for Fernando Alonso is one of his great regrets in his Formula One career. Now that Alonso has re-signed with Aston Martin for several years, Newey may seize his chance. Alonso himself is also open to the idea. "I always wanted to work with him once in my life," the Spaniard told reporters before the Grand Prix in Miami.
