Yuki Tsunoda was unable to score points for the Red Bull Racing team during the British Grand Prix. Helmut Marko spoke about Max Verstappen's teammate in his column at Speedweek.
“Yuki Tsunoda struggled during some GP weekends, but in England, we saw an upward trend: the gap with Max was smaller in most of the free practices than before, and he was able to start from the eleventh position in England,” the Austrian began about the second driver of Red Bull Racing. This season, Tsunoda only managed to secure ten points in the Formula 1 championship.
Marko is quite positive about Tsunoda. According to him, there is an upward trend visible for the Japanese. “We have had intensive discussions with Yuki, and he is also working with sports psychologists. Unfortunately, like Max, he had no chance in the race with that rear wing. But we notice a performance improvement, and we are optimistic that it will soon translate into points,”
During the race in England, Tsunoda finished last. The Japanese received a ten-second penalty for his incident with Oliver Bearman. According to the Red Bull driver, the stewards were targeting him, as he stated after the race at Silverstone.
