Marko happy with Red Bull's performance: "That is now paying off"

Red Bull Racing produced a positive qualifying session with Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon finishing P3 and P4. Adviser Helmut Marko is happy with that. Especially because of the hard crash that Albon had on Friday.

“We knew Mercedes could take that extra step in qualifying, but we are getting closer, even more in the race,” Marko expresses his expectation at Autobild. The developments that Red Bull have made to the car are only now really visible, according to the Austrian. “That is now bearing fruit. That was already clear in Turkey, but we couldn't use it yet. ”

Albon's good result also raises the question of whether Red Bull should change their line-up for 2021. The British-Thai made a big mistake on Friday, but also made it up on Saturday. Marko explains that they will not make that choice in the short term and will wait a few more weeks with the final decision.

“Nothing has changed now. After the last race of the season we will sit down and analyse everything. Only then will we make the decision of who will drive for Red Bull next year," he added.
