Many overtakes expected in GP Australia with four DRS zones

The Australian Grand Prix is back on the program this weekend after two years of absence. The organization not only removed the chicane at turns 9 and 10, but also other parts of the track will be changed.

The race in Melbourne was scheduled for many years, but due to the strict Covid restriction laws in the country, the organizers decided to forgo a GP for two years. Since the Covid period is over, the event returned to the racing calendar in 2022.

On the circuit, some changes took place. For example, it can be seen that the FIA is going to work with no less than four DRS zones, so the viewers and spectators along the side can expect a lot of overtaking. It's unique, because never before has there been a race with more than three DRS zones. The map shows that it uses two detection points.

Keke Rosberg was the first winner of the GP in 1985, which was invariably on the calendar in the years that followed. In recent seasons, Mercedes was often strong at the track, with two wins for Nico Rosberg, one for Lewis Hamilton and one for Valtteri Bottas. In between, Sebastian Vettel was the winner in both 2017 and 2018.
