At the end of the Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz battled hard. At times, it looked like the fight was going to end in tears in the home race at Monza, and it was said that Leclerc took too much risk. The Monegasque does not understand that and also regrets having had few such battles with Max Verstappen.

Ferrari fight goes just right in Monza

The Ferrari drivers fought for the last spot on the podium in the last few laps of the race in Monza. It all went just right, and at times, Sainz and Leclerc even seemed to touch each other lightly. "We really enjoyed it. Then, of course, we're always doing a debrief of the race, and we discuss it. But nothing special. I think both of us really enjoyed it. I think Carlos enjoyed it less than I did," Leclerc said, speaking to Sky Sports.

Leclerc wants to fight with Verstappen more often in F1

"But in the end, it's part of racing. As I said in Monza, this is what made me fall in love with racing. The competition, the fighting on track," the Monegasque continued. Leclerc does hope to be able to fight Verstappen more often in the future. "And we've had that plenty of times with Max. Well, mostly in karting and a bit in Formula One. Not enough, unfortunately. So it's good. I think it can only benefit Formula One as drivers and the show in general."

At Monza, Sainz eventually walked away with third place after the blood-curdling battle. That Leclerc wants revenge this weekend in Singapore is more than obvious. Asked if he wants to finish ahead of Sainz again this weekend, Leclerc replied briefly but firmly: "Of course".
