Lando Norris is one of the Formula 1 drivers who also often gets into the virtual seat. The Brit was therefore invited for the fifth IndyCar Challenger race, which he immediately wrote to his name.
With Lando Norris on the poster, a virtual race immediately attracts a lot of extra viewers, the organisation of the IndyCar Challenge race must have thought. The Brit was therefore invited to participate in the fifth round of the virtual race.
In the practice sessions the young Brit immediately showed that he can be pretty fast in another car as well and that became very clear during qualifying. There Norris took pole position, which gave him a perfect starting position for the race.

Exciting until the final laps

At the start the Brit got away well and was able to hold the lead, just ahead of Will Powers. Due to a pit stop just before the so-called competition caution, a restart to make sure the frontrunner can't drive away undisturbed, Norris only unfortunately ended up in sixth position. It didn't help that he made a spin at the last corner of the track.

Nevertheless the young driver of McLaren managed to recover strongly. In the final laps of the race he managed to take over the lead from Felix Rosenqvist and claim victory. "It wasn't easy, but I had to thank myself for that. I didn't think I would be in the lead, it was a tough race," Norris told NBCSN afterwards.
