Daniil Kvyat has said that “there was nothing wrong” with his Alpha Tauri AT01 after he came to a halt in the afternoon session on the first day of the second test in Barcelona.
After Pierre Gasly’s stint for Alpha Tauri in the morning was cut short due to a loose pipe there was concern after Kvyat came to a stop at turn 9 at the Circuit de Catalunya towards the end of the afternoon session.

His stop on track came shortly after Max Verstappen brought out the red flag at turn 10 after his Red Bull was sent into a spin.

But there was no problem with the actual car according to the Russian, instead information from data showed it was better to stop the car than continue running it.

"Nothing broke, there was nothing wrong with the car,” he told GPBlog.

“I was told something had shown up in the data and it was better for us to stop running because there was little time left anyway.

“It was better to stop the car at that moment, and I think in the end it was nothing big. It was better to stop it there rather than to bring it to the box."

Kvyat and Gasly finished the day in P4 and P5 whit times of 1:17.456, and 1:17.540.
