Toro Rosso announced this morning they had resigned Daniil Kvyat following a season rest. In 2017, the Russian picked up just five points in F1, but he claims he is much "better prepared" for the challenges and obstacles which form part of the F1 circus.
Active between the years 2014-17, Kvyat has started 72 Grands Prix, making him almost level with Max Verstappen. The 24-year-old explains how the junior Red Bull team feels like home to him.
"I am particularly pleased to be returning to a team I know very well. Toro Rosso has always made me feel at home, and I'm sure it will still be the same next season," Kvyat said in the Toro Rosso statement.
"I would also like to thank Ferrari for trusting my driving skills which allowed me to stay connected to F1 as their development driver. Even if my duties were primarily simulator based, I've learnt a lot, and I now feel stronger and better prepared than when I left Toro Rosso."

During his off time, Kvyat explains how he never gave up hope of racing. However, with Pierre Gasly and Max Verstappen unlikely to move away from Red Bull anytime soon, a promotion seems unlikely.
"I never gave up hope of racing again, I am still young and I have kept in good shape to always be prepared in case another opportunity presented itself. I will give my best to deliver what the team expects from me and I can't wait for everything to start again," he concluded.
