The FIA made it clear on Tuesday that from now on, drivers will have to apply for permission when putting out political statements. The regulations caught the eye of many. Dalton Kellett, for instance, lashed out harshly at the organisation.
The 29-year-old IndyCar driver finds it incomprehensible that the FIA is coming up with such rules. According to the Canadian, this is yet another proof that it is on the wrong track and therefore needs to change soon.

On social media, Kellett shared his anger with his followers. "When I started in racing, the FIA seemed like a necessary (even commendable) organization that strove to improve safety and protect fair competition," he reveals in his post.
"These days, it’s become a meddlesome and bloated bureaucratic quagmire. Probably time to re-evaluate its scope and reach," he lashes out harshly at the FIA. However, it does not look like the organisation is going to reverse the situation.
In fact, the FIA is explaining the rule differently. It would still promote diversity and inclusion, only it wants to keep the concept of political neutrality. However, it says it does not mean that the FIA will stop fighting social problems.
