Alpine has unveiled the new A522 for the upcoming F1 season. The new car of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon should bring the French racing team closer to podiums, victories and titles.

Since Renault's return to Formula 1 in 2016, the goal was clear: to become world champions. From day one, the gaze was already on the new regulations in 2021 with a five-year plan. Then the team had to compete for the world title again. In the meantime, however, a lot has changed internally (several times) and the team still did not get further than one lucky win by Ocon in 2021. In addition, the regulations were shifted to 2022.

So the pressure is high for Alpine who, with BWT, brought in the pink sponsor as title sponsor for this season. With the departure of team boss Marcin Budkowski and the arrival of Otmar Szafnauer there has been another changing of the guard and that is usually not a good sign prior to a season with completely new regulations.
