Horner: "I think Max has really grown up this year"

Max Verstappen made 2019 his best season so far in Formula 1 after finishing third in the world championship. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner is very pleased with the performance of Verstappen and also his mentality.

"I think Max has really grown up this year. He is the leader of the team. I think he has taken on that role with a great sense of responsibility. For me, Max is the most complete driver in Formula 1. The form that he has demonstrated throughout the year is really of a different level," Horner told Formula 1.

Verstappen won his first pole this year and was on the highest step of the podium in Austria, Germany and Brazil. He also took a podium in Australia, Spain, Hungary, Singapore, United States and Abu Dhabi. Verstappen ended up in third place just ahead of the Ferrari drivers in the championship.
