Red Bull Racing was far ahead of Ferrari for a long time, but in recent race weekends Ferrari have managed to close the gap. For Christian Horner, this is proof that the battle for the championship is far from over, he told Formule1.nl.
With six wins in eleven Grands Prix, Verstappen is still by far the best performing driver in Formula 1 this season. As a result, the Dutchman still has a large lead in the world championship, but Horner is convinced that Ferrari can fight back.

Horner wants to stay ahead of the competition

A fortnight ago in Austria, Red Bull was the favourite but faced a rival that was ready for battle. Despite pole position for Verstappen, the reigning world champion drew the short straw and Charles Leclerc was the winner. Horner will therefore remain focused in the coming months.
"We are only just halfway through the championship and things are fluctuating quite a bit," commented the team boss, who also remains confident that Sergio Perez can take the world title. "There is still an awfully long way to go. It's frustrating from a constructor's position, but Ferrari had its own problems."
