Brendon Hartley has had a difficult season in Formula One with Toro Rosso and has now said that he thinks the team needs some upgrades if they are to compete for points for the rest of the season.
The team has not scored points for two races, since a double points finish in Belgium, with Pierre Gasly ninth and Hartley tenth.
It was only Hartley’s second point of the season, a return which sees him in 19th position in the standings, above only Sergey Sirotkin, who has just one.
Toro Rosso have been given a difficult job this year with an underpowered Honda engine, which Red Bull are taking on next season.
And now Hartley has called for more upgrades to his car for the final six races of the season.

“We definitely need some upgrades, there’s been times when we can fight a bit closer to the top 10 but today wasn’t one of them,” said the New Zealander.
Hartley has finished on the cusp of the points on several occasions, but it doesn’t look like it will be enough to secure a seat for next season.
