Hamilton wants to put 2021 season behind him

Lewis Hamilton did not say much for two months after his defeat at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Despite the radio silece he has been revealing what he got up to, and explained that he actually spent a lot of time with his family, as he explained to Autosport.com.

During the Abu Dhabi GP, everything pointed to Hamilton grabbing his eighth world title. The Briton was in the lead for almost the entire race and continued to outrun Verstappen, until Nicholas Latifi crashed and the Red Bull Racing driver walked away with the victory.

Hamilton was angry with the race committee at the time and decided to keep radio silence after that weekend. The seven-time World Champion withdrew for two months. It did not mean that he sat at home, however, as he focused extensively on his family early this year. Indeed, according to Hamilton, he normally barely gets around to paying attention to his family and was grateful to be given this period by Mercedes.

During this period, however, the Briton says he hardly doubted whether he wanted to continue his Formula 1 career. The Mercedes driver admits that he did not want to think about motorsport for a while, but says he is fully ready to start a new season.
