Lewis Hamilton *still* hasn't signed an extension at Mercedes, but the Brit has all but confirmed that he'll stay at the Silver Arrows, saying that he wants to make his team the most successful team in the history of F1.
Hamilton is out of a contract at Mercedes at the end of the year, and even though both parties have been saying for a while that the extension just has some details that need sorting, the contract is still unsigned and until that happens, Hamilton will be a free agent at the end of the year.
In a double interview, Hamilton and team principal Toto Wolff talked about what they wanted from the future at the team.
“I want to be part of this Mercedes journey, to make it the most successful Formula 1 team in history," Hamilton said.
"I want to push it as far as I can with a lifespan of a driver that I have so that it will take a long, long time for anyone to catch up.

“And I think that would really upset the red cars, the red team so that’s my goal,” he concluded with a smile.
Even though Hamilton is at the end of his second three-year deal at Mercedes, rumours have been that his third contract will just be for two years instead of three.
