Now that Toto Wolff is staying on as team boss at Mercedes, it can hardly be long before Lewis Hamilton will also extend his contract. Following Max Chilton is only a matter of time.
Whereas most of the seats have been filled before 2021 and there is still a lot of speculation about the last seats at Haas, AlphaTauri and Red Bull Racing, Lewis Hamilton's seat is never really mentioned. The world champion still hasn't signed up, but after the news from Wolff, he can't stay long behind with signing up.

Hamilton must now stay with Mercedes

''I don't see Lewis leaving Mercedes. Of course he wants that record with an eighth world title and the best place to do that is at Mercedes. Why would he want to stop if they can get another title? Why would he throw away the advantage of working with Valtteri Bottas?'', Chilton asks himself in GQ-Magazine.
''I see Lewis driving Mercedes for another year, taking the title and then quitting. He's not going to conquer the Triple Crown like Alonso and he's not going to Ferrari. We have never seen his competitive spirit before, but with Sebastian Vettel we have seen what happens when such a driver suddenly runs out of a good car. Retire at the top and be the greatest ever'', concludes the former F1 driver.
