Hamilton enjoys: 'I still love the challenge every year'

Lewis Hamilton is keen to reappear in his Mercedes after an eventful 2023 season. As his contract runs until the end of that year, it may be his last season in Formula 1. However, the Briton has expressed his intention to extend the period again.

It surprised Hamilton that he still enjoys participating in Formula 1, he said in an interview with Speedcafe.com. After seven world titles, he is still not bored of being in the motorsport class. "It’s a question that I have myself probably," he reveals in that regard.

"I don’t know, I think it’s [that] I still love what I’m doing, I still love the challenge every year." Hamilton added that he makes it a challenge to take away the positives after each Grand Prix, while trying to keep the negatives behind him as much as possible.

Last season, therefore, this created a difficult position for him. Indeed, Mercedes experienced a disappointing first half of the season, in which a lot went wrong. However, the period after the summer break gave Hamilton enough confidence to stay behind his team.
