Haas chief Guenther Steiner has revealed that his team's decision to protest Force India's cars ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend is in a bid to receive "equality" for the entire grid in Formula One.
The American team launched a protest against both of Force India's cars on Thursday, with both teams having to attend a meeting with the stewards on Friday in between the practice sessions.
The stewards have said that they received evidence of a "substantial amount" meaning their decision would be delayed until Saturday afternoon at the earliest.
Steiner was not too revealing on the whole decision to protest Force India's vehicles, but he did reveal that it was trying to get more "equality" across the grid.
"What we are seeking for is equality for all the teams," Steiner said. "We came in under certain circumstances into Formula One, we were aware of what we have to do, we did it all, and we feel that this was not done this time with Force India.
