Haas test driver Pietro Fittipaldi: "I thought they were joking"

During the opening test week, a change to the Haas schedule caused a surprise. Kevin Magnussen had problems with his seat, so Haas called up test driver Pietro Fittipaldi to avoid wasting vital track time. Fittipaldi thought it was a joke when he first found out the news.

"One of the engineers said to me 'are you ready for' so I replied: 'Yes, of course, I'm ready for tomorrow in the car'. But he then immediately made it clear that I had to go straight in. I thought it was a joke, but he stayed serious," Fittipaldi told Globo Esporte.
