Pierre Gasly has been performing extremely well at AlphaTauri this season, which has led to him hoping to succeed Sergio Pérez at Red Bull Racing. However, the Austrians decided to extend the Mexican's contract, which led to Gasly's disappointment.
In conversation with the official website of Formula 1 he let know that he is still disappointed with Red Bull's decision. "I think I performed at a very good level this season, better than I did in 2018 when I was given the opportunity, performing a better level, more experienced and based on this year I could have deserved a better chance," Gasly assessed. "But that is the decision, it doesn’t stop my motivation, I’ve been in Sergio’s position, it’s part of obviously, a career perspective."
Despite Red Bull's choice, he speaks positively about the team. "They made their decision, I’m happy for them that they are having a very successful season. I will keep pushing and try to take my chance in the future because that’s what I want, to fight for a World Championship."

Pérez's strong performance in Turkey

Pérez finished third at the Turkish Grand Prix, moving closer to Lando Norris in the world championship. The difference between the two drivers is still only ten points.
