'Future of Red Bull Racing in F1 secured by Mateschitz'

Christian Horner was visibly affected by the death of Dietrich Mateschitz, but the Red Bull team boss believes the F1 team's future has been secured by its owner.

Last weekend, the Red Bull founder died at the age of 78. Mateschitz built an empire, of which the Formula 1 team Red Bull Racing is a part. With the owner's death also comes immediate questions about the team's future, but Horner maintains that it is assured.

Speaking to Motorsport.com Red Bull Racing's team boss let it be known that Mateschitz himself ensured that a strong foundation was in place. Not only has the team been able to build a competitive chassis for Formula 1 for years, but it can also develop its own engines from 2026 with the new factory in Milton Keynes.

Mateschitz is said to have been closely involved in this, according to Horner. Red Bull Powertrains makes the team even more sustainable and independent. These are important core values for Red Bull, which puts it in a strong position for the future. Therefore, the death of the top man does not jeopardise that.
