Full results FP1 Saudi Arabia | Verstappen fastest, Alonso P2

In Jeddah, Max Verstappen was fastest in the first practice session ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. On a track that kept getting faster and faster, Sergio Perez and Verstappen were slightly faster than the Mercedes, Ferrari, and Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin cars.

George Russell had the top time for a long time, but in the end the Red Bull driver proved to be faster in his RB20. The difference was mainly made when both drivers were running on soft tyres. Verstappen was much faster then and made quite a gap with the Brit on the timesheet. Russell eventually finished fourth.

Alonso finished in P2, being faster than Verstappen's teammate Perez. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were somewhat disappointing on the Middle East street circuit. They came no further than seventh and 15th in the first session of the Grand Prix week.
