Hamilton took to the radio to ask what had gone wrong: "I'm nowhere in this race, mate. I don't know what's happened." His race engineer, Riccardo Adami replied, that his race was okay considering the damage.
David Croft in during the Sky Sports' broadcast of the Grand Prix said Ferrari had issued a communication saying Hamilton incurred in a damage worth 20 points of downforce on lap 13 of the Grand Pric.
