Mosley would cancel 2020 season: "If we wait, it'll only get worse"

The 2020 F1 season is unlikely to start until July at the earliest. In the meantime, the Formula 1 organization and the FIA are doing everything they can to find a way to finish another season in the second half of the year. According to former FIA President Max Mosley they should stop that immediately.
At the moment it is mainly going to the Austrian Grand Prix in the first weekend of July as a moment when the 2020 season can begin. Some sounds from Austria are positive about this last week, but the passage of the Grand Prix of Great-Britain, on the other hand, has become more uncertain. This uncertainty is the main reason for Mosley to make a decision now.

Teams and GPs must be able to make plans

“The situation risks getting worse if we wait,” Mosley said in an interview with dpa-international.com. “There’s no guarantee that we’ll be able to race again in July, it’s very uncertain. If we cancel the season now it will be clearer for the teams and Grand Prix organisers to take action and plan for the future."
For example, the various teams currently have to decide whether, for safety reasons, they will close their plants for a longer period of time or whether, at some point, they will continue their development. Anticipating the start of the season is impossible at this point, according to Mosley. “As long as we don’t know what the pandemic is going to do from a global perspective, it is impossible to make rational plans for Formula 1.”
