Jordan dishes out the praise for Verstappen: 'Best example of control'

Former Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan was left astonished by Max Verstappen's performance at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Jordan dished out the praise for the Dutchman who won what he thinks might be the best race in Formula 1 history.

In wet conditions, Verstappen started from 17th on the grid and worked his way through the field. Where other drivers were slipping off the track, including his title rival Lando Norris, Verstappen continued to push forward. He won the race comfortably in the end.

"There's been some titanic races this year," Jordan said in a conversation with David Coulthard on the Formula For Success podcast. "But they pale into insignificance as to what this race was. It was possibly the greatest race I've ever seen. I thought it was the greatest example of control. Max knowing his rule book inside out, better than anyone else in the paddock. He knew not to jump those lights, and he was under no issue," Jordan said.

"I mean honestly those guys [Russell and Norris] could have got a 10 second penalty and he could have won by 30 seconds but it didn't matter. He was so calm about it. He was calculating. Every time he made a passing move. I mean he was exemplary. For me this was a masterclass of how a racing driver reaches the pinnacle of his career and becomes a fourth time world champion," the former F1 team boss concluded his praise of Verstappen.

Verstappen extended his World Championship lead over Norris to 62 points. The Dutchman can seal the title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. On the other hand, Norris has lost out. Jordan also lambasted Norris for his performances across the entire season.
