Lance Stroll, although not participating in the Spanish Grand Prix later this Sunday due to a hand and wrist injury, has still received a reprimand from the FIA for a violation after the qualification. The Aston Martin driver had failed to report for weighing after the session. This results in a warning from the stewards.
Drivers are required to weigh themselves in Parc Fermé after each official session, before they join their team or have a drink. However, Stroll did not do this after Q2 in Barcelona. The stewards then summoned the Canadian, but before that they were told that this could not go ahead due to medical circumstances.
A doctor and Stroll himself then informed the stewards of his physical problems. The FIA states that the health of a driver always comes first. A warning is issued nonetheless, because Stroll and Aston Martin did not inform the motorsport federation earlier about what was going on, so that some checks by the FIA team could have taken place.
