With all kinds of worldwide measures against the coronavirus, all sports events suffer from it. Time after time races are postponed with new measures and to be clear the Formula E and FIA have announced that the season will not start before the end of June.

Flag system

By means of a statement, the FIA states on its website that they will continue to use the system of green, yellow and red flags. At each race on the calendar a flag is placed, where yellow stands for a possible passage, red is not possible and green means: racing.
For now, both parties have placed red flags at all races in May and June, which means that there will be no racing in the electronic Formula class before the end of June. As a result, the E-Prix of Berlin, which was scheduled for 21 June, has been postponed.

The month of July is currently a 'yellow flag month', in which the parties involved see it as a window to get started. This month also offers space to reschedule previous races, but this is only possible if the current global situation stabilizes.
The goal is to start racing again as soon as possible, but the safety of all parties involved must be guaranteed. As long as that guarantee cannot be given, the start of the season and races will be postponed.
In addition, the FIA and Formula E state that they still want to finish the season with as many races as possible, constantly looking for alternative possibilities behind closed doors. These include double headers, a longer season and more.
