Ferrari renounces confusion and announces name of technical director

Ferrari had been officially without a chassis technical director for a long time. This weekend at the home Grand Prix for the Scuderia, Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur put an end to the confusion.

Since the departure of team boss Mattia Binotto earlier this year, the Italian team was without a technical director on the chassis side. Everyone working on the chassis side has to feed back to the technical director, but that is difficult if the role is not filled. In Italy, Vasseur announced who fills the role.

"All the guys working on the chassis side are reporting at the end to Enrico Cardile, and for me Enrico is the technical director," Vasseur confirmed to Autosport.com. The eponymous Enrico Gualtieri is the technical director of the engine department at Ferrari. For a while it looked like Cardile would fill this role, as the Italian has been the head of the department since early 2021.
