Ferrari boss Vasseur fires back at Wolff’s brutal McLaren claim: 'Humiliation? No!'

For Ferrari, it was a terrible race weekend as F1 returned from its summer break, with a double DNF for the Scuderia consigning them to a pointless finish as both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc crashed out.

However, at the Grand Prix around the Zandvoort circuit, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull could not find any pace compared to the papaya coloured team, with Lando Norris' DNF the only reason why a fifth consecutive one-two finish eluded them.

As a result, Wolff had a harsh reaction and said that McLaren were humiliating everyone, with the British team now sitting on 584 constructors' championship points, 224 points clear of Ferrari back in P2.

Shortly afterwards, in the presence of GPBlog, Vasseur was asked about Wolff's harsh judgment, something the Frenchman refutes.

Not completely, because it's not only the last stint. I think if you have a look at the race, in the middle of the second stint, I don't know if [McLaren decided to push or not," Vasseur explained.

Ferrari still sits second behind McLaren in the constructors' standings, but that gap will only increase as the season goes on, with Vasseur admitting that the speed of the British team cannot be followed by anyone else on the grid.

"Clearly, they are a step ahead in quali, but much more than this in the race. But humiliation. I won't go so far," concluded the team boss.
