In the new format of Formula 1, the traditional press conferences are divided between Friday and Saturday. Before the start of the third free practice session, it was time for a few team bosses to speak to the media. The main topic? The attack.

Positive message

Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto was asked to comment on the go ahead of the Grand Prix? The Italian clearly had little desire to elaborate at length on the subject. "It was a long night," Binotto said, adding that Formula 1 is in the country to send out a "positive message" to the world.

McLaren colleague Andreas Seidl agreed with Binotto. He told the media that yesterday's events were 'alarming '. Therefore, he said, it is important to have an 'open and transparent' dialogue. "It is important that last night we and the drivers took the time to get a good picture of what happened and what we can expect in terms of safety. In the end, we decided that it was correct to allow the event to go ahead. We feel comfortable with that decision."

Full confidence

Both team bosses then expressed full confidence in the F1 organization and the local authorities, which they believe justifies not canceling the Grand Prix. "Leaving the country was not the right decision," Binotto said.
