A late safety car as a result of Kimi Antonelli's retirement meant the Grand Prix was shaken up with seven laps to go, but Piastri held on in front of his teammate to increase his championship lead.

Behind the two McLarens, even with a set of hard tyres to end the race, Charles Leclerc rounded out the podium.

Behind those three, George Russell finished fourth ahead of Max Verstappen in P5, with the two almost colliding twice after a hectic final few laps between the two of them. A ten-second time penalty then pushed him down to P10.

Lewis Hamilton could only come P7 in his Ferrari car, with the Sauber of Nico Hulkenberg finishing in P6 ahead of the Brit, Isack Hajdar, Pierre Gasly, and Fernando Alonso rounded out the top ten.
