Red Bull boss Horner expects a lot from Las Vegas Grand Prix: 'Will be a thriller'

The 2023 and first edition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix promised a spectacle and it delivered. The Grand Prix ran through the streets of the pompous gambling city in the American desert, and gave us an intense and exciting race. In the run-up to the second edition of Formula 1's new flagship event, expectations are even higher, including from Christian Horner.
The Red Bull Racing team boss ended last year's Las Vegas Grand Prix with the most important trophy in his hands after Max Verstappen won the race. The Dutchman, who could take his fourth consecutive world title at the event, does not seem the favourite for the win at the circuit given McLaren and Ferrari's improvements this season. However, this doesn't dent Horner's anticipation for the weekend.

Las Vegas poses a challenge

Speaking to TalkSport, the Briton, who has been in charge of Red Bull since the team's first entry into Formula 1 in 2005, said that 2023 was "a great race". "One of the best races of the season last year because of the long straights and the slow corners at the end of them. There were huge overtaking opportunities. It was also very cold, and it was difficult to warm up the tyres," Horner reflected.
This bodes well for 2024, believes the Austrian racing teams' boss. "It could just be another thriller. And I certainly don't expect it to disappoint this year."
