With a wide lead in the championship, Charles Leclerc is currently the driver to beat in Formula 1. David Coulthard says Leclerc's current form gives him "shivers" because he's being reminded of Michael Schumacher's dominance.
Leclerc now has two wins and a second place to his name, while rival Max Verstappen has already crashed out twice in three races. The two drivers have had some great battles on track, but for now the Ferrari driver is grabbing a wide lead over Verstappen.
The Monegasque's form is so good at the moment that Coulthard has to think back to the days when Schumacher dominated at Ferrari. "I had a little bit of a shiver actually, a flashback to when Michael was dominant in the Ferrari", the former F1 driver says on Channel 4.

Leclerc makes good impression

At the Australian Grand Prix, Leclerc became the 26th driver in F1 history to secure a Grand Slam; pole position, leading all laps of the race and fastest lap. "We’ve got to acknowledge that he is a quality driver. That [Leclerc’s drive] was dominant. That really was an impressive display. Ferrari has worked hard, and Mattia Binotto, what a cool character he’s been under all the pressure of the lack of performance over the last two years", says Coulthard.
