Carlos Sainz on Red Bull seat: "I was in the wrong place at the wrong time"

Carlos Sainz has driven for a number of Formula 1 teams but is yet to be given an opportunity at one of the big three. Having driven for Toro Rosso many thought the natural progression would be to get a drive at Red Bull but that never came. Instead, the Spaniard moved to Renault and then McLaren after his time at Toro Rosso.

"When I was at Toro Rosso, I was really sorry that the opportunity never came, because I think that in 2015 I had a good first year," Sainz said to F1Only.fr.

Sainz will hope that McLaren become a top team in the next few seasons and that he can start winning races and consistently getting on the podium.
