Toto Wolff praises the Red Bull Ford power unit, and the Cadillac F1 Team faces a lawsuit: take a look at the two main Formula 1 stories from today, Sunday 8 February.

Cadillac F1 Team faces 'multimillion-dollar lawsuit' over Super Bowl commercial dispute

American film director Michael Bay has fired off a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Cadillac F1 over a Super Bowl commercial tied to its car launch.
The lawsuit claims that the team “have apparently stolen Bay’s ideas and work for the commercial without paying for them,” with concepts he developed allegedly appearing in the final advert set to air in the coming hours — prompting the director to file a claim seeking at least $1.5 million in damages.
Moreover, it is claimed that Bay was informed on December 6 by a freelance producer that the project would no longer move forward with him, as the agency had opted to "go in a different direction".

Verstappen's new power unit also caught Toto Wolff's eye

The Mercedes team principal praises Red Bull’s brand-new power unit, developed entirely in-house for the first time in Milton Keynes, in collaboration with Ford.
“When it comes to Red Bull, I think they've done a good job,” Toto Wolff told a select group of media, including GPblog. “Hadjar did 107 laps I believe on the first day and was running reliably, so you have got to give them that.”
The Austrian outfit, together with Racing Bulls, emerged as the third most active power unit manufacturer during the Barcelona test. In terms of mileage, they were only beaten by Mercedes and Ferrari, both of whom were able to rely on a larger number of customer teams.
