Brundle points finger: “He’s to blame” for US GP Sprint chaos

The former Formula 1 driver and reporter, who shared his thoughts on the race weekend via his column on Sky Sports, singled out the Australian driver as the one who should take most of the blame for the incident. The 66-year-old further explained how the first turn at the circuit is notorious for crashes and carnage.

“The Piastri crash in turn one was unfortunate, but I believe he was predominantly to blame. This corner rises steeply by 40 metres, is very wide at the entry point but narrow at the apex, and only a little wider on the exit, albeit with some scruffy run-off space if required.”

During the US Grand Prix Sprint, Piastri was involved in a spiralling collision that took out several drivers, including Lando Norris, Nico Hulkenberg, and Fernando Alonso. The championship leader, who tried to get on the inside of his teammate, collided with Hulkenberg in the first turn of the opening lap of the Austin Sprint.

Piastri earlier reacted to his crash at the US Grand Prix Sprint. The 24-year-old was asked who he considers to be at fault for the incident.

The McLaren driver, however, stated the need to review the incident again before pointing fingers. Teammate Norris also echoed the same line, explaining the importance of having a second look at the incident before casting a verdict.
