According to McLaren-CEO Zak Brown, there will not be one team that has a big advantage over the rest of the field. Formula 1 comes with a new set of regulations which will make the cars look very different.

No dominant team

The last time Formula 1 came up with a drastic change was in 2014. Back then, it was Mercedes that managed to create a bizarrely strong hybrid engine and the German team benefited from that for years. According to Brown, we shouldn't expect one team to be as dominant again as Mercedes was back then.
"I’d be very surprised if next year was a boring campaign with the new cars," said Brown in conversation with MotorsportWeek.com. The American thinks it is possible for a team to be dominant for a shorter period, as Brawn GP was at the beginning of 2009.

Four cars for the title

Brown is hoping that several teams can fight for the title until November. "My hopes are we go to Abu Dhabi with 3-4 cars that compete for the championship, I think that’s the ultimate goal," he said.
