According to Mattia Binotto, the drivers who were good in Formula 2 will perform well in Formula 1 in 2022. The heavily modified cars that will hit the tracks from next year will look much more like F2 cars, according to the Ferrari team boss.
Ferrari and Binotto hope to be strong at the start of the new era of car in 2022. In 2020 Ferrari had a tough year, while in 2021 the team took a step forward. They scored five podiums and secured third place in the Constructors' Championship.

New cars like Formula 2

According to Binotto, drivers who achieved good results in Formula 2 will do well in Formula 1 in 2022. It will be a difficult task for the drivers anyway, because Binotto said in conversation with FormulaPassion.it that the drivers will have to change their driving style.
"These cars are more like F2: those who were strong there will probably be strong in these cars too, but we won't be able to make a final judgment even after the first two or three Grands Prix," Binotto revealed. The Italian adds that there is absolutely no reference for the new cars.
